The prices and trading volume of Finnish pulp and wood soared in April

According to data from the Finnish Institute of Natural Resources (Luke), the price of pulpwood continued to rise to record levels in April. The last time the average actual price of spruce standing timber was higher than this value was 15 years ago, while the average actual price of pine and birch was higher than this value about 25 years ago. The timber trade volume in April reached the second highest in history. From January to April this year, the purchase volume of wood was 16% higher than the average level of the previous five years.
