Thailand became the largest recipient of US waste in the first quarter

A trade data from the United States Census Bureau shows that the export volume of recycled fiber in the United States in the first quarter was 3.95 million short tons, down 8% from the first quarter of 2022. According to Resource Recycling analysis, there has been a significant change in the direction of US waste. For example, the amount of US waste sent to India decreased by 446000 short tons, a decrease of nearly 37%, but the amount sent to Thailand surged year-on-year, increasing by 449000 short tons, or 120%.
