Paraguay Paracel Bleached Eucalyptus Kraft pulp plant with an annual output of 1.5 million tons is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter

According to foreign media reports, Paracel was jointly established by zapag group and girindus, aiming to establish a world-class pulp mill in Concepcion, Paraguay, and provide one of the most effective logistics for regional and global markets by complying with the highest sustainable development standards.

Zapag group is a leader in the field of fuel import and distribution in Paraguay. It always pays attention to global and regional trends, sees opportunities in the growth of pulp products, and decides to acquire land for afforestation. The selection of land takes into account factors such as soil suitability, good conditions for biological growth, logistics and the possibility of providing jobs for thousands of people in the area.

Girindus investment is a group company headquartered in Sweden with rich research and development experience in the whole production chain from sustainable afforestation to pulp production.

The rainfall mechanism, climatic conditions, flat terrain and deep soil in Concepcion, Paraguay, make the region an ideal place to plant, cultivate and harvest trees all year round.

Paracel owns more than 150000 hectares of land, of which 105000 hectares are arable land, with an average distance of 130 kilometers from the factory. The factory is located in the Paraguay River, which is one of the most important rivers in South America – flowing to the La Plata river. The boundless River, the uniform climate throughout the year and two-thirds of the roads around the factory have been paved. These favorable factors combine to create the best logistics solution for products and materials entering and leaving the factory. Under these conditions, Paracel will be prepared to provide certified pulp to the global market in accordance with the principles of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The raw materials required by the plant will be provided by its own Eucalyptus Plantation and local producers. These plantations can produce 35 to 45 cubic meters of wood per hectare and rotate over six years. The design annual capacity of the plant is 1.5 million tons of Bleached Eucalyptus Kraft Pulp (bhkp) per year.

The plant is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2022.
