Meisen international Stendal pulp mill shut down due to fire

On the morning of July 1 local time, a fire broke out at mercerinternational’s Stendal pulp mill in Germany.

It is reported that the fire occurred in the conveying system between the chipper and the chipper stack. Then the fire spread to the whole transmission line.

According to local media reports, people are worried that the fire may spread to production plants. The pulp production in this factory has been stopped and will be stopped for several days. Due to equipment damage, the supply of raw materials in the factory may also have to be temporarily suspended.

Stendal pulp plant can produce about 660000 tons of bleached coniferous pulp (NBSK) every year. The products are mainly used in the production of household paper, high-grade printing and writing paper and special paper. China is one of the most important export markets of Masson.
