German paper industry association: Germany may face toilet paper shortage

Russian satellite news agency, Berlin – Martin kroenger, chairman of the German paper industry association, said that the natural gas market crisis may cause a sharp reduction in the production of toilet paper in Germany.

On the occasion of the world toilet paper day on August 26, kroenger said: “the production process of toilet paper is particularly dependent on natural gas. Without natural gas, we cannot ensure a stable supply.”

According to the data quoted by the German paper industry association, German residents use an average of 134 rolls of toilet paper every year. “In the context of the current energy crisis, our priority is to ensure that this important commodity is provided to people,” klunger stressed

On August 24, the German cabinet passed a series of energy-saving measures, including natural gas. Companies in energy intensive industries must comply with energy conservation recommendations, which used to be voluntary.
