Four Swedish paper companies jointly developed new garbage paper bags and conducted recycling tests

With the phasing out of disposable plastic bags in the Swedish market, paper handbags are becoming more and more common in garbage cans in Sweden. Therefore, the recycling of paper bags has become a problem. Recently, four companies in central Sweden are working together to develop new garbage paper bags and make paper bags occupy a place in the waste management system.

Since 2021, paper Province, karlstads energi AB, Nordic paper and norbag have begun to cooperate to develop a paper bag that can treat surplus waste. This new paper bag is expected to make waste management more efficient and sustainable.

As plastic bags have no environmental benefits, consumers in northern Europe are more and more inclined to reuse paper bags as garbage bags. However, because they can not be fastened and sealed like plastic bags, they will lead to many problems, such as the mess of garbage cans and containers.

Therefore, the four paper enterprises hope to develop a new type of paper bag, which is specially developed for dry residual waste, so that it has the same sealing performance as plastic bags and can be recycled, so as to replace plastic bags and help reduce the amount of plastic in waste management.

At present, the development of the new paper bag is progressing smoothly and will soon be tested in Karlstad, Sweden. The goal is to sell and use the new garbage paper bag in local stores in 2022.
