Arauco is expected to start a new bek pulp production line with an annual output of 1.56 million tons in late October

Empresas copec, the parent company of Arauco, a Chilean forest products company, announced on August 19 that the construction of a new Bleached Eucalyptus (bek) pulp production line is at the end of its construction, and the first package of pulp board is expected to be put into production at the end of October.

Mapa project is a new pulp production line built by Arauco pulp factory located in bio B í o region of Chile. It is part of the large-scale investment project of Arauco mapa and one of the largest pulp production projects in the world. The pulp production capacity will reach 1.56 million tons / year.

The new pulp mill was originally scheduled to start production in the first quarter of 2021, but the start of the project was delayed several times due to the covid-19 pandemic and the strike of truck drivers in Chile.
